New Build Snagging - Beyond the surface
A Post-Completion New Build Snagging Inspection is undertaken once you have completed on your new home. It can be undertaken at any time for two years after completion. However, we strongly recommend that Post-Completion Snagging Inspections are undertaken as soon as possible after you have got your keys and before you have moved in. Your Builder will ask you to complete a Home Buyers Survey after you have moved in and will be pushing for a "yes" Survey. Builders are rated on these surveys (e.g. 5* Builder).
A Post Completion New Build Snagging Inspection is a much more in-depth inspection than a PCI Inspection. We are independent home snagging specialists who have knowledge of both building regulations and home building standards. We will look for defects and potential issues with your new home that may not be obvious to you the homeowner.
Snags can be something that is cosmetic, damaged or broken; not fitted properly or which looks unfinished. However, with our professional knowledge snags can be identified that could be hiding something more serious and which may need large amounts of attention from your builder. Many issues are not visible to the naked eye and can only be identified using specialist equipment such as thermal imaging cameras. Our findings will be provided to you in a comprehensive report.
For a small additional fee we can also book a re-inspection to check that any snags we identify have been corrected and ensure that further damage hasn't been caused during the repair process. if this is something you are considering this should be undertaken before your two year developers warranty expires.
